Yesterday was the day that Avicii announced that he will quit the DJ and producer life for at least this year. I can really relate to his decision because it’s the same decision I made about 2 months ago. I totally get it why Avicii wants to quit and I admire his brave choice. I know how hard it is to give up on something you always loved to do but sometimes it just has to happen to get something new started. You develope as an artist but also as a person. In my case, the development of the person went a bit quicker then the one from the artist, my guess is that this happend with Avicii as well.
What can you learn from this?
In my opinion, the only important thing to learn from this, is that you need to enjoy every little moment of your career as an artist, in the good or bad times. Never forget to enjoy the things you’ve accomplished and never forget the important people around you. Life is more then just success.
Avicii is the perfect example of a big success story to which one of the biggest cliches is applicable:
Money doesn’t buy happiness.
I understand that money isn’t completely unnecessary in a humans life and that it can make things much easier but it’s important that you don’t get blindsided by it. Always try to follow your ‘inner guts’ and you will always be happy with the choice you’ve made. Weither it is the choice you will make the most money on yes or no, it will be the best choice for you.
Personally I think it’s a pitty that Avicii will end his career, whatever his reason is. He added a lot of good vibes and creativity to the music scene and made a lot of people happy with his music, which I am definitely gonna miss. Hopefully his ‘stop’ won’t take too long and I hope he will find his way back to the passion and fun of making music. The reason why we all started in the beginning! I’m the last person to say that it’s an easy road but I found my way back and enjoy every minute of making and playing music again.
One part of me can never say never, I could be back …but I won’t be right back.
